Through the Healthcare Activator program, Texas Medical Center (TMC) and Austrade are seeking to provide a pathway for exceptional Australian medtech and digital health businesses to access the US market. With the help of TMC's clinical and commercial partners, companies selected through the Healthcare Activator will be given the opportunity to spend 6 months at TMC, establishing a presence and being able to grow their business in the US community. TMC does not charge for this experience and does not take any equity, however companies will need to fund their travel, accommodation and subsistence.
TMC is the largest medical city in the world and is ideal for international companies. It leverages its clinical, business, and subject matter experts to inform companies' business strategies for market access, growth, and commercialisation. Since 2015, TMC has committed to providing customised support to startups seeking to grow in the US, and TMC's dedicated team, programs and venture fund provide a unique US market entry.
Successful applicants to the Healthcare Activator will embark on the TMCi Accelerator program that will give feedback on their proposed US market plan, and provide connections to US health systems, mentors, talent, investors, and other curated resources. It will also provide office space with other healthcare startups and potential for investment from the TMC Venture Fund.
